Dr. Alejandro “Lejo” Flores is a faculty member of Geosciences at Boise State University, where he is the Principal Investigator and director of the Lab for Ecohydrological Applications and Forecasting. A computational ecohydrologist by training, Lejo is passionate about using advanced computational tools and techniques to understand integrated land systems—especially where human activity is inextricably coupled to hydrologic, ecologic, and atmospheric processes across a range of spatiotemporal scales. Of particular interest to him are the local, regional, and global teleconnections between water, food, and energy networks. He is well known for his high-resolution regional climate modeling and evaluation, hydrologic modeling, remote sensing, and data assimilation-related research. His research is supported by the National Science Foundation and he is extensively published. Lejo served as a member of SESYNC’s Scientific Review Committee.
