Dr. Amy Trauger is a Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Georgia. She has been named a Fulbright Scholar and is the Canada Research Chair in Food Security at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. Amy is the author of the book, We Want Land to Live, published by the University of Georgia Press in 2017, as well as three other books. She is the co-editor with Dr. Jennifer Fluri of the Gender, Feminism and Geography series at the University of West Virginia Press. Amy is also a founding member of the Pennsylvania chapter of Women’s Agricultural Network; co-founder of the Supporting Women in Geography chapter at Pennsylvania State University; and CounterSpace in Athens, Georgia. She is also a Co-Convenor with Dr. Jennifer Rice of the Athena Co-Learning Collective at the University of Georgia. Amy has conducted research in Europe, the Caribbean, South Asia, and the United States. She received her PhD in Geography and Women’s Studies from the Pennsylvania State University in 2005. Amy served as a member of SESYNC’s Scientific Review Committee.
