Dr. Andrés Baeza-Castro is an ecologist by training with experience in ecological modeling and spatial data analysis. After receiving a PhD from the University of Michigan in 2013, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at SESYNC, where he worked on modeling the interaction between environmental degradation and ecological dynamics in semi-deserts and tropical forests. After 2 years at SESYNC, Andrés started working at Arizona State University. He is currently a Biological Scientist at the U.S. Forest Service in the area of Forest Inventory and Analysis. Andrés is originally from Chile, where he studied Natural Resources Management, and he has lived in the United States for 13 years.
