Dr. Dana Graef is an environmental anthropologist with interdisciplinary training in the natural and social sciences. She was a Research-in-Action Fellow at SESYNC from 2018-2021. In this role, she supported various research and programming initiatives at the Center, including facilitating the 2019-2020 Socio-Environmental Immersion Program; leading an interdisciplinary foundation that examined the consequences of unimplemented development projects; and co-developing open-access resources focused on interdisciplinary facilitation practices. Before SESYNC, she was a postdoctoral fellow in International Humanities at Brown University, where she taught courses on climate change, environmentalism, and what it means to be green. Dana holds a combined PhD in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Yale University, as well as an AB in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University. She has written articles and essays on topics including mining, wildness, and the anthropology of climate change.
